Fayetteville Schools

The Fayetteville School District provides kindergarten through 12th grade education, as well as adult and community education programs. The district is comprised of 15 schools with an enrollment of more than 8,100. But numbers don’t tell the whole story.

Fayetteville Public Schools are some of the state’s (and the nation’s) best. In 2011, Fayetteville High School was named one of the Best High Schools in the U.S. by Newsweek magazine, ranking in the top four percent of high schools in America. Our schools consistently rank among the upper echelon of school districts in the annual “Education Quotient” issue of Expansion Management magazine. In this publication, school districts nationwide are rated in terms of both the “graduate outcome” and “resource index” measurements. School systems that receive the “Gold Medal” award typically excel in areas of high academic standards, small class size and high spending per pupil on instruction.
