We got the chance to speak with owner Luke Penner about his ideas behind the latest and greatest tacos:
Fay: What inspired you to start and open Tandem Tacos?
Luke: “I opened the truck with the inspiration and goals to help employ people with disabilities. I’m working with the Elizabeth Richardson Center and am actually interviewing a guy next week."
Luke is in the early stages of getting the truck up and running before he starts employing others, but it sounds like he will have a crew by early next year.
Fay: What is the best or most unique item on the menu?
Luke: “Hmm, that’s a hard one. I don’t like to have favorites. I’d say that so far the Ms. Steak is a really popular choice."
The Ms. Steak is made up of Fajita steak, jalapeno poppers, cheddar, and pico de gallo.
What is your favorite thing about Fayetteville?
"I love the culture here. It’s outdoorsy and embraces that southern hospitality and that’s what I’m all about."
The truck is located on the corner of Lafayette and West Avenue and is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4p.m. Click here to check out their full menu.
New Food Truck, Tandem Tacos, Opens in Fayetteville
We love food with a cause and that’s why we’re excited about our newest food truck in town. Tandem Tacos opened its airstream to the public last Thursday and they are now cooking up tacos in the downtown district.
Tandem Tacos serves unique tacos for breakfast and lunch with fun local names like “The Fayetteville” and “The Old Main.” After checking out the menu and watching orders being plated, we decided you can’t go wrong with anything. The portions look delicious and large enough to tame any hungry beast.
