The fourth annual Fayetteville Roots Festival kicks off Thursday, Aug. 22 on the community stage at the Fayetteville Public Library and continues until Sunday, Aug. 25.

The urban music and food festival is bringing musicians and bands including Del McCoury Band, Iris Dement, Hayes Carll, 3 Penny Acre and American Aquarium.

Walton Arts Center is the main stage, but there are also many community stages and late night stages. Among the library are George’s Majestic Lounge, Greenhouse Grille, Kingfish Dive Bar and the farmer’s market at the Downtown Square.

The three-day passes for Friday through Sunday and the single day festival passes for Friday and Saturday are sold out. However, the four-day VIP passes, single day main stage tickets and late night tickets are still available on the Fayetteville Roots Festival website.

If you hear a roar coming through the mountains that’s not thunder, it’s the 17th annual The Bikes Blues and BBQ® Motorcycle Rally coming to Fayetteville and surrounding cities in Northwest Arkansas from Wednesday, Sept. 21- Saturday Sept. 24. If you haven’t ever been, you will love riding through the Ozark scenery, joining in on one big party, and raising money for great causes. If you have come before, it will be just as much fun as last time.

In the last few years, First Thursday Fayetteville has become a highly anticipated, must-see monthly event drawing more than 15,000 people downtown throughout the season.

On the first Thursday of each month from April to October, First Thursday Fayetteville transforms the city’s historic Downtown Square into a vibrant arts district, featuring the work of more than 40 visual artists, live music, street performers, food and drink, and children’s activities.

The upcoming First Thursday, on October 6, will round out the end of the 2016 season with some great musical acts and activities, celebrating the cool fall weather.
