First Thursday Fayetteville has a new direction as the Fayetteville Town Center takes the reigns from the Fayetteville Visitors Bureau. The Town Center staff has some surprises planned beginning on April 7 at 6 pm when they bring a carnival atmosphere into the Town Center.

The April event will be inside the Town Center, where you’ll find performers like UPDownGo and Biz the Clown.  The Kids Zone, sponsored by First Security Bank, will have face painting, games and other activities planned by Kids Unlimited Learning Academy.  Cox Communications is sponsoring the photo booth and a caricaturist.

In the last few years, First Thursday Fayetteville has become a highly anticipated, must-see monthly event drawing more than 15,000 people downtown throughout the season.

On the first Thursday of each month from April to October, First Thursday Fayetteville transforms the city’s historic Downtown Square into a vibrant arts district, featuring the work of more than 40 visual artists, live music, street performers, food and drink, and children’s activities.

The upcoming First Thursday, on October 6, will round out the end of the 2016 season with some great musical acts and activities, celebrating the cool fall weather.

The Fayetteville Underground is set to host the opening reception for their new exhibition during the First Thursday Celebration on the downtown Fayetteville Square, Thursday, July 7 from 9p.m.

The show features work from different artists and media types that all aim to capture intricate details of the world.
