Prepare the kids for a magical summer evening! The Botanical Gardens of the Ozarks presents the 2016 Firefly Fling Saturday, July 16. The evening is sure to entertain with activities like nature stations, face painting, fairy house building, giant bubbles, a monkey bridge, an obstacle course, a maze, a photo booth and more. Kids are encouraged to dress up in magical, fairy-like attire, and adorn themselves in glow in the dark accessories.
The largest New Year’s eve festival in Arkansas will return to downtown Fayetteville for the 6th annual night of celebration. This year’s “Hog Drop” tradition will continue with a new 8.5 ft silver hog sculpture [made by artist Mike Davis] as attendees count down to midnight. The firework finale to follow is a show that you won’t want to miss!
The festival was originally scheduled for Saturday, May 4, and was postponed due to inclement weather.
In the last few years, First Thursday Fayetteville has become a highly anticipated, must-see monthly event drawing more than 15,000 people downtown throughout the season.
On the first Thursday of each month from April to October, First Thursday Fayetteville transforms the city’s historic Downtown Square into a vibrant arts district, featuring the work of more than 40 visual artists, live music, street performers, food and drink, and children’s activities.
The upcoming First Thursday, on October 6, will round out the end of the 2016 season with some great musical acts and activities, celebrating the cool fall weather.
